Meet Our Principal
Founding Principal of ITW David Speer Academy
Born in Chicago and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, Mr. Mulder attended Purdue University and earned B.A. in Health and Safety Education along with a B.A. in Exercise Physiology (and a minor in Mathematics). He has also earned his Master's Degree from Concordia University in School Leadership.
After graduating from Purdue, he accepted the job of Dean of Discipline and Athletic Director at Noble Street College Prep and held that job for two years. Wanting to pursue a football coaching position, Mr. Mulder left Noble Street to coach football while teaching math, health, and physical education at Lake Central High School in northwest Indiana. After three years of coaching and teaching in Indiana, Mr. Mulder returned to the Noble Network to become the Founding Assistant Principal at Pritzker College Prep and held that role for six years. Noble's mission to provide a rigorous education and to graduate students from college is why he was proud to rejoin the Noble Network.
One of Mr. Mulder’s proudest professional achievements was becoming the principal of Power House High School. In 2012, Power House had finished their fourth year and was a low performing school in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood. To address Power House’s challenges, a partnership with Noble was formed. Noble provided the principal in Mr. Mulder and his responsibility to implement the Noble expectations at a non-Noble campus. In the two years under his leadership, Power House has become one of safest and top performing high schools in the city.
Through the above-stated professional experience that Mr. Mulder has worked hard to obtain, he is excited and motivated to execute the vision for all ITW David Speer Academy students: to earn a great Noble education and graduate from college with a STEM degree. Mr. Mulder has high aspirations that ITW David Speer Academy will equip our students with excellent academic and real-life skills along with the self-discipline to secure employment and become productive citizens.
